CPC Holds Open House, Takes No Votes
Watertown's Community Preservation Committee marked its 10th anniversary with an open house gathering resident input rather than taking votes.
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of July 23, 2026
Watertown's Community Preservation Committee marked its 10th anniversary with an open house gathering resident input rather than taking votes. Chair Marissa Mayo and Coordinator Lene Handy reviewed a decade of awards, including $1.5 million to the Watertown Housing Authority for a group home and $2 million more to Preservation of Affordable Housing for the Willow Park redevelopment. Handy said just over $20 million is available for fiscal year 2027, combining restricted and undesignated reserves, with project eligibility forms due July 27 and full applications due in October.
In breakout sessions on housing, historic preservation and open space, residents pushed for more pre-application workshops and mentorship, with one resident saying "it really was enjoyable to go from table to table and to hear ideas and suggestions." No formal votes on funding or policy were taken.
