Licensing Board · Meeting of October 15, 2026
WATERTOWN — The Watertown Licensing Board approved an all-alcohol and common victualer's license transfer to a new restaurant called Kiln Tide at 643-649 Mount Auburn Street. Attorney David Rubin told the board the deal involves a $100,000 asset purchase agreement plus $50,000 already spent on improvements, for an estimated $150,000 total, with Carlos Amaral as manager. Rubin said the application had stalled at the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission over broad pledge language, which he said was "narrowed... so that the pledge is now for the license, the alcohol license." The board also approved special one-day permits for Armenian community events and a new common victualer's license for a Uyghur restaurant at 58 Mount Auburn Street, and agreed to send notice letters starting a six-month clock on dormant licenses held by China Rainbow and Shiraz.
