Licensing Board · Meeting of August 20, 2026
Watertown Licensing Board voted unanimously to revise regulations on notifications and occupancy authority. The Board removed the requirement that common victualler applicants notify neighbors and added mandatory notification for outdoor entertainment licenses. Occupancy capacity determinations were assigned to the Building Department rather than the Board.
A new provision exempts non-sacramental alcohol toasts at religious ceremonies from licensing unless a charge is involved. The Board also simplified retail package goods hours to match state statute and standardized private club hours to 10 a.m.–12 a.m.
