WATERTOWN — The Watertown Stormwater Advisory Committee reviewed seven active town drainage projects and disclosed a monitoring data gap tied to a lapsed testing contract. Acting City Engineer Nathan Chin said the DPW engineering division is running three of its normal five staff positions, which delayed renewal of a sampling contract with a firm identified as SDE; he expects "maybe two quarters" of missing data in the town's year-eight MS4 report, due Sept. 29. Member Chris Conner questioned why the town splits sample collection and reporting between two consultants, saying "Weston Sampson wasn't receiving data and didn't say anything about it." Completed and ongoing projects include infiltration work on Dexter Avenue, Templeton Parkway and Copeland Street, tree trenches near Bemis Playground, and a Victory Field unit sized for a 100-year storm.
Members approved July minutes as amended and voted unanimously to adjourn. A member who ran the meeting said she intends to step back from the chair role once the committee, which has one open resident seat, is reconstituted.
