Watertown Conservation Commission clears Comcast drainage fix, seats a new vice chair. The commission voted 5-0 to approve modified grading and full-depth pavement reclamation at Comcast's 25 Clarendon Street facility, expanding disturbance within the riverfront buffer from 2,883 to 4,350 square feet, all within already-paved ground. Engineer Mark of Civil Works in New England said the city's planning and engineering offices never responded to outreach on the change, prompting a resident, Libby, to call the silence "even a little rude." Members also adopted new Rules of Practice and Procedure 5-0, elected new member Ian vice chair 5-0, and agreed to start hybrid meetings November 4 at the Parker Annex.
Staff flagged unresolved erosion at 23 Elm Street and Riverfront Park, where kayakers crossing a slope keep new plantings from taking hold.
