WATERTOWN — The Environment and Energy Efficiency Committee voted by voice to send the City Council a letter urging work on a gas-powered lawn equipment ordinance. The cover letter attaches a 2024 Watertown Faces Climate Change letter, and members chose not to alter it. Members debated keeping the effort separate from the noise ordinance.
Energy Manager Silas said the council's Jan. 27 agenda includes a roughly $900,000 request for Level 3 police station chargers, with make-ready funding likely to cover half or more. He also said a community solar project should cut about 10 percent from some city electric bills. The committee will staff an EcoFest table May 9, and its next meeting is Feb. 23.
