Watertown's public works chief said a tree canopy study will be finished by June 30. Superintendent of Public Works Tom Brady told the Environment and Energy Efficiency Committee that a University of Vermont lab is analyzing 10 to 15 years of canopy loss by council district. He said he will review the two proposed tree ordinance versions after the budget is adopted.
Brady described his department as "putting 15 pounds of sugar in a five pound bag," with about 40 of 65 staff working in the field. Silas told the committee the city approved a mobile EV charger and a solar farm authorization, and warned of a supply charge of up to a penny and a half. The committee held its January minutes.
