WATERTOWN — The School Building Committee approved a $558,608 change order for the new Watertown High School. Members voted 8-0 on Change Order No. 28, which covers a second-floor dining seating area, two added security cameras, a rooftop medical call button, solar equipment work and dishwasher ground-fault protection. The remaining list of potential changes stands at about $1.6 million against a $201.461 million MSBA budget.
A project team presenter said contractor Brait Builders now projects substantial completion on May 1, with move-in "the last day of school and a couple days thereafter in June." The committee also approved a $21,000 final Lowell Elementary invoice and $1,452,177.61 in Brait Builders payment, with the contractor 93 percent complete. Planning & Community Development Head Steve Magoon was thanked ahead of his end-of-January retirement.
