Committee Approves $84,891 School Change Order

School Building Committee · Meeting of July 15, 2026

Watertown's School Building Committee approved an $84,891.33 change order for the high school project and pressed its project manager on a tight path to opening. Member Mark Sideris said the last Eversource-related item was "another disappointing circumstance" and "them giving us the runaround on more than one occasion." Project manager Christy disclosed a damaged geothermal pipe under repair and unresolved atrium fire curtains that could affect the certificate of occupancy needed by August 21 for an August 24 teacher move-in. The committee also approved June invoices, including $1,883.46 for middle school design work, on 6-0 roll calls, and learned the project remains $838,900 under the city's additional funding allocation.

A city council vote on the middle school budget is expected August 11.
