Board of Health · Meeting of March 18, 2026
Watertown Board of Health approved a lab permit for Neosplice Therapeutics to extract RNA from frozen tumor tissue. Company representatives Antonino and Evgeny told the board the research, conducted at a shared lab at 155 Arlington Street in Cambridge, aims to find new RNA isoforms and epitopes in cancer patients, starting with endometrial tumors, to identify targets for future antibody treatments. The board, with members Kim Nader and Dominic voting aye in a roll call, approved the permit unanimously; work could start as early as April.
Separately, the board tabled a tobacco violation hearing and heard that its pest-enforcement health officer resigned two weeks ago, with the position posted internally before an external search begins. Staff said rodent complaints remain "a little bit below average" compared with last year.
