Trust allocates $219,035 in HOME funds for Belmont Street repairs

Watertown Affordable Housing Trust allocated $219,035 in HOME funds for drainage improvements and exterior stair repairs at 1060 Belmont Street.

Watertown Affordable Housing Trust · Meeting of June 16, 2026

Watertown Affordable Housing Trust allocated $219,035 in HOME funds for drainage improvements and exterior stair repairs at 1060 Belmont Street. The Trust voted 4-0, with Trustee Leo Patterson abstaining, to approve the allocation for the 18-unit affordable housing complex owned by MetroWest Collaborative Development. Executive Director Barney Heath noted that limited reserves and escalating operating expenses have made it difficult for the property to fund needed capital work internally.

The total project cost is estimated at $269,650; MetroWest will cover the $50,650 difference from property reserves.
