Traffic Commission · Meeting of March 25, 2026

WATERTOWN — Traffic Commission unanimously restricted parking on Orchard Street near Lawrence Street intersection. The Watertown Traffic Commission voted unanimously on March 25 to prohibit parking on the south side of Orchard Street from 30 feet west to 30 feet east of Lawrence Street, responding to resident Leslie Cristello's complaints about blocked sight lines when exiting Lawrence Street. The board also directed the Department of Public Works to obtain speed data on Coolidge Avenue and coordinate with Cambridge on traffic-calming measures, and commissioned further study of a rectangular rapid flashing beacon at Lexington Street and Bemis Street, where crossing guard service has lapsed for up to three years.
