WATERTOWN — The Watertown Human Rights Commission established two subcommittees to advance its action priorities. Liz Aeschlimann proposed and Lisa Laplante seconded the motion to create working groups focused on goals from the needs assessment by Liz Peck of Peck Policy Strategies, with commissioners voting unanimously to approve. Commissioners agreed to select which subcommittee they would join.

The commission also discussed immigration enforcement policy with Captain Dan Unsworth of the Watertown Police Department, who said police are not always notified of ICE activity before it occurs but will respond to calls to protect public safety.
