Historic District Commission · Meeting of April 16, 2026

WATERTOWN — The Historic District Commission approved a new Walnut Street two-family and Mount Auburn Street signs. Members voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for the Greek Revival house on Lot A, on the condition that minor roofline changes from the Zoning Board of Appeals go to the preservation agent. The commission also approved two signs at 113 Mount Auburn Street on a five-aye roll call.

A motion with conditions for the neighboring Victorian at 235 Mount Auburn covered the slate roof, a stepped-in clapboard addition and a window in place of a door. The Lot A plan relies on a shared private way that only the City Council can name. Members also re-elected their officers.
