Greenway intersection project delayed beyond August 2026
Watertown Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee delayed the planned greenway intersection project.
Bike & Pedestrian Committee · Meeting of July 13, 2026
Watertown Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee delayed the planned greenway intersection project. The Arlington-Nichols-Greenway intersection improvements have been pushed back beyond August 2026 due to staffing turnover at the Department of Public Works; work remains on hold pending recalibration of scope and design. The committee met with Sergeant David Sampson of the Police Department Traffic Division to discuss school-area pedestrian and cyclist safety, focusing on education needs.
Chair Jamie Burke and member Eileen Botti were appointed to a new subcommittee to develop handouts and branding materials with Senior Planner for Open Space Michelle Moon, and the committee decided to add a flag to portable bike racks used at events.
