WATERTOWN — CPC votes unanimously to oppose coordinator restructuring. The Community Preservation Committee voted 7-0 on January 15 to oppose a proposal from City Manager Steve Magoon to place Coordinator Lanae Handy under Planning Department supervision instead of committee oversight. Members cited concerns about committee independence and potential conflicts of interest when planning staff submit CPA fund applications.
The committee also decided to review and update its Community Preservation Act plan in-house and received status updates on three active preservation projects, including City Hall Paintings Restoration and Walker Pond Conceptual Design.
