Cultural Council · Meeting of February 11, 2026
Watertown Cultural Council voted unanimously to return canceled Voices of Home grant funds to its general fund after the grantee requested to redirect the award toward a different project. Council members determined the new initiative constituted a substantially different proposal outside the closed FY26 grant cycle. The council scheduled a grantee reception for May 13, 2026, and is evaluating potential venues including Mount Auburn Cemetery, the Mosesian Center, Gore Place, and the Armenian Museum.
Phyllis Perrone and Lawrence Kessenich formed the celebration committee. A presentation on the River of Light partnership was postponed to March.
