WATERTOWN — The Conservation Commission voted 6-0 to accept the 2025 Annual Whitney Hill Report for transmittal to the City Manager. The report, prepared with community collaboration and historical data by Conservation Agent Katie Swan, will go to the City Council. The Commission also addressed gravel placement at Arsenal Park Amphitheater that raised concerns about wetlands compliance and accessibility standards; DPW Director Thomas Brady agreed to review the matter and provide information on whether the work exceeds degradation limits.

At Whitney Hill Park, the Commission learned that three Norway Maples had been removed for a planned 1.8 million dollar roof replacement project; Commissioners questioned why they were not consulted given the Park's conservation status.
