Conservation Commission · Meeting of March 4, 2026

WATERTOWN — The Conservation Commission unanimously appointed Marilyn Salvas to the Community Preservation Committee on a 5-0 vote, with Leo Martin moving and Maria Rose seconding. The commission received the 2025 Whitney Hill Park Annual Report and set 2026 goals to seek Community Preservation Act funding for an Urban Wild Management Plan. Residents expressed concern about three trees recently cut at the park and suggested posting signage about tree-cutting laws.

Conservation Agent Katie Swan documented the cuts with photographs during a March 3 site visit and was asked to ensure the 311 System Staff alerts the Conservation Commission of future park-related reports.
