Bike & Pedestrian Committee · Meeting of June 1, 2026
Watertown's Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee voted to ask Chair Jamie Burke to contact the Department of Conservation and Recreation about safety concerns at the Mass Central Rail Trail entrance on Beaver Street. Member Maria Saiz motioned; the vote passed 7 to 1, with Becky Lin dissenting, after the committee heard about hazards including missing wayfinding signs, a road dip, and sand piling at the entrance 1/4 mile from the Watertown-Waltham line. In a separate action, the committee voted to have Burke attend a late-June snow removal debrief with representatives from Public Works, Planning, and other city departments and the Commission on Disability, with one member abstaining.
